01. Account and sign-in

Do I need to request access? No. Sign in with your Google or Apple account and your account is created right away.

I signed in with Google and with Apple and see different lists. Each sign-in method is a separate account. Always use the same one — and, to share a list, enter the e-mail of the account the other person actually uses.

The app asked me to sign in again. The session on the device lasts 30 days. When it expires, just sign in with the same account — nothing is lost.

Is there a version for iPad and Mac? Yes, it’s the same app, with the same account and the same lists on every device.

Can I protect the app with Face ID? Yes: with Face ID (or Touch ID) set up on the device, Listify asks you to unlock it when it opens. If it doesn’t recognize you, tap “Unlock” to try again, or “Sign out” to sign in again with your account.

02. Shared lists

How do I share a list? Open the list and tap the person icon with a “+” at the top. Enter the e-mail the other person uses to sign in to Listify (they need to have signed in at least once). Sharing is part of Listify PRO; the person who receives the list doesn’t need to subscribe.

What does the other person see? Only that list, and they can edit it. None of your other lists are visible.

How do I stop sharing? On the same sharing screen, remove the person. The person who received the list can also leave it.

Alerts and assigned tasks. While a shared list is open, what others add shows up on its own. To get notified when someone adds an item or assigns you a task, turn on "Shared list alerts" in Settings › Reminders and widgets. To assign a task in a shared task list, edit it and pick the person under "Assigned to" (only people on the list are shown); their name shows under the task. Alerts arrive on iPhone and iPad.

03. Grocery lists

How do I set a quantity? When adding or editing an item, use the − and + buttons or type in the field (“2”, “1.5 kg”, “3 boxes” all work). The quantity shows next to the name when it isn’t 1.

I added an item that was already on the list. In grocery lists, Listify reuses the existing item (usually bought on a previous trip) and unchecks it, instead of creating a copy.

How does the list follow the store layout? The grocery list opens grouped by aisle (produce, bakery, deli…). Choose the store at the top of the list and tap “Aisles” to put them in the order you walk through it — it works for every trip, even when each trip has different items. Each product goes into an aisle on its own; to change it, edit the item and pick another section (the app remembers your choice), or drag it to the neighboring aisle. With “Learn” on, the order in which you check items off also adjusts each product’s position within its aisle.

How do I add a store? Tap “Store” at the top of the grocery list and use “Add a new store”.

Item images. Images are part of Listify PRO. The search brings product photos (DuckDuckGo, Pixabay, Open Food Facts and Pexels) and covers for books, movies and series (Open Library, Google Books, Apple Books, IMDb and Wikipedia); tap “Load more” to see others. More specific terms (brand + product) usually bring better images.

04. Tasks, books, movies and series

Completed tasks disappear from the list. When you leave the list, completed tasks go to the Trash, where they can be restored.

Recurring tasks. When you complete a recurring task, the next occurrence is created automatically with the new date.

In what order do tasks appear? By default: due date (overdue first), then priority, then alphabetical order. Other sort options are in the settings button at the top of the list.

Ratings, reviews and progress. Edit a book, movie or series to give it 1 to 5 stars and write a review. For books you're reading, enter the total pages and your current page to see your progress. The yearly reading goal is part of Listify PRO: in Statistics, tap "Set a reading goal" and track how many books you’ve read.

Import from Goodreads or Letterboxd. In your books (or movies) list, tap the gear › Configure List › Import from Goodreads (or Letterboxd). On Goodreads, export from My Books › Import and export › Export Library; on Letterboxd, from Settings › Data › Export your data (open the .zip and choose watched.csv, ratings.csv, diary.csv or watchlist.csv). Items already on the list aren't duplicated.

Next episode. In series lists, when a new episode has been announced, its date shows under the title (data from TVmaze). With reminders on, you get a notification on the day a new season premieres.

Year in review. With Listify PRO, open Statistics and tap "Your year in review": the card sums up what you read, watched, completed and bought that year, and the Share button sends it as an image. The arrows switch the year.

Siri and Shortcuts. Say "Hey Siri, add to Listify", "Add to Groceries in Listify" or "What's left in Listify". Siri then asks for the item and, if needed, the list — the item name doesn’t go in the same sentence, and part of the list name is enough. The first time, iPhone asks "Turn on shortcuts for Listify with Siri?": tap Turn On. The shortcuts also show up in the Shortcuts app. Open Listify once after signing in so they know your lists.

05. Listify PRO

What is free and what is PRO? The free version includes every list of items — to-dos, groceries with quantities and aisle order, books, movies, series and custom lists. Listify PRO (yearly subscription) unlocks item images and covers, prices and spending, smart restock, widgets, list sharing, statistics and the year in review. Task reminders are free.

Is there a free trial? Does it work for my family? When a free trial is available, the PRO screen shows its length before you subscribe; cancel before it ends and you won’t be charged. With Apple’s Family Sharing, the subscription works for up to 6 family members, each with their own Listify account.

How do prices and restock work? In the grocery list, edit an item and enter the unit price (you can do it after checking it off, at the checkout). Every item checked off goes into your history: Statistics show spending per month, per store and per product, and the “Time to restock” card suggests what you usually buy and is probably running low (after 3 purchases of the same product).

Reminders and widgets. Turn on reminders in Settings › Reminders and widgets and choose the time: on the due date you get a notification with that day’s tasks. For widgets (PRO), touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit › Add Widget and choose Listify.

How do I subscribe, cancel or switch devices? Subscribe in Settings › Listify PRO. Billing and renewal are handled by Apple: to cancel, go to iPhone Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions (PRO stays active until the end of the paid period). On a new device, sign in to the same Listify account and tap “Restore purchases”.

What happens if my subscription ends? The app goes back to the free version. Nothing is deleted: lists, items and images stay saved and come back if you subscribe again.

06. Data and privacy

I want to delete my account and my data. Right in the app: Settings › Delete my account immediately deletes your account and all your lists. Note: lists you shared also stop existing for the people who received them. If you prefer, write to the e-mail above. Details in the Privacy Policy.
